If you have attended any of our chapter meetings over the last year, you know we consider it our responsibility to foster the next generation of cyber security professionals. One way that we demonstrate our commitment is by participating in the Center for Cyber Safety and Education’s Chapter Scholarship Challenge. This year we raised $5,100.00, Lumos Networks donated $1,500 and Northrop Grumman donated $2,500, and our members stepped up to the challenge this year contributing $1,100. We will be awarding one (1) $1,350 and three (3) $1,000 scholarships to local students throughout the Metro Richmond Area.
Last year, because of a generous donation from Lumos Networks, we met the minimum goal and were able to present a local student and chapter member Onzae Carter with a $500 scholarship.
