    Job Description

    The Virginia Information Technologies Agency (VITA) is currently seeking an Enterprise Architect. This position is within the Enterprise Architecture (EA) Division of the Commonwealth Security and Risk Management (CSRM) Directorate. EA is classically linked to a planning function operating between strategy formulation and design while contributing to effective business decision making, and enterprise intra- and inter-operability. This position supports VITA’s statutory responsibilities to oversee the coordinated, effective and efficient management of the Commonwealth’s Information Technology (IT) resources, with particular emphasis on:  (1) Conducting appropriate research and analysis on technology and IT solution components (2) Developing and maintaining technology and IT solution standards (3) Creating and maintaining technology roadmaps and (4) Reviewing IT solution designs .

    Minimum Qualifications

    The minimum qualifications for this position are:

    • Considerable experience in Enterprise. 
    • Experience with Enterprise Architecture framework(s) or a sufficient working knowledge.
    •  Tools experience supporting Enterprise Architecture, Capability and Technology Management, IT Portfolio Management, or another related area.
    • Experience in IT Planning and establishing IT strategies, goals, objectives, and measures.
    • Experience in drafting IT related policies, standards, and requirements.
    • Experience in current information technologies; trends and best practices; IT business solutions.
    • Knowledge of one or more of the following IT disciplines:  Cloud-based hosting, Network, 
      Integration, Interoperability, Enterprise applications, Capability models, Software development, Artificial intelligence (AI), IT auditing, Security frameworks, or Risk assessments.
    • Demonstrated customer targeted written and oral presentation communication skills.
    • Ability to work against a plan, meet deadlines and produce deliverables
    • Ability to translate best business practices to government use.
    Preferred Qualifications
    • College degree in Information Technology or an associated discipline
    • Work experience in a fast paced environment while acquiring new skills/knowledge to meet customer needs.
    • Thorough understanding of customers priorities and the business criticality of platforms, applications and services. 
    • Experience in Enterprise Architecture.
    • Experience with Archer, Planview CTM, CMDB and equivalent EA related tools.
