Election committee 

At ISC2RVA, we are committed to upholding the principles of transparency, fairness, and accountability in all of our operations, including our annual elections for board of directors roles. That's why we rely on the expertise and dedication of our Election Committee to ensure that the election process runs smoothly and in accordance with our bylaws.

The mission of the ISC2RVA Election Committee is to run and oversee our chapter's annual elections for board of directors positions. This involves a range of critical tasks, including serving as a nominating committee to organize membership interest for eligible members to run for a position on the board.

The committee is responsible for validating the qualifications of individuals running for board positions to ensure they are abiding by the (ISC)2 code of ethics, hold an active (ISC)2 certification, and are members in good standing with both the local chapter and (ISC)2 proper. They also ensure that individuals running for board positions have not exceeded tenure in any named position according to our chapter bylaws.

Once the committee has validated the list of eligible members running for board positions, they submit it to the eligible chapter members for voting. The committee is also responsible for validating the results of electronic voting and submitted proxies to certify the election results.

Finally, the committee announces the election results to the chapter, ensuring that all members are informed about who will be serving on the board of directors for the coming year.
