ISC2RVA Volunteer Opportunities

The board has created several opportunities for ISC2RVA chapter members to get involved in the local chapter. By joining one of our committees, you can help us meet our mission and make a difference in our community.

Here are the committees that you can join:

• Development Committee: This committee is responsible for fundraising, public relations, and marketing. As a member, you will help attract speakers to our monthly meetings and promote our chapter to the community. This is a challenging but vital role that requires creativity and strategic thinking.

• Scholarship Committee: This committee is responsible for evaluating student submissions for our scholarship program. You will also help set fundraising goals and determine how the funds are distributed. This is a fun and rewarding role that allows you to make a direct impact on the future of our profession.

• Outreach Committee: This committee is responsible for planning social events, connecting with members online, and lining up speakers. As a member, you will help drive content on our LinkedIn page and network with new or potential members in the area. This is a great role for those who enjoy building relationships and engaging with others.

• Election Committee: This committee is responsible for accepting nominations for the board, vetting candidates, and overseeing the election process. This is generally a once-a-year commitment, but there may be special elections if there are vacancies. This is a crucial role that ensures our chapter leadership is representative and accountable.

• Audit Committee: This committee is responsible for ensuring our finances are in order and reviewing proposed budgets and expenses. This is a minimal time commitment that provides crucial oversight and accountability.
