(ISC)2RVA November 2022 Monthly ISC2RVA Chapter Meeting

Speaker: Dan Eres - Director, Technology Risk & Controls at Capital One

Topic: Sarbanes-Oxley (SOX) Compliance in banking and large organization

BIO: Dan Eres is a graduate of Virginia Tech with a degree in Finance and Accounting.  He spent several years working in various Audit and Accounting roles at CarMax before moving to Capital One to focus his career towards technology.  Dan has served in numerous technology roles, including:  systems analysis and integration, software and data engineering, architecture, production operations and support, Agile software delivery, and Product Management.  Dan's current position is Director, Technology Risk & Controls Governance, Sustainability and Advisory - where he and his team ensure that technology across the enterprise is compliant with both internal and external regulations and requirements.  He is passionate about people leadership, and believes if you get the people right, the work will be right.  

Outside of work, Dan is actively involved with his local church Area 10 Faith Community, sings baritone in his Richmond a cappella group Main Street Station, and plays on numerous River City Sports and Social Club leagues.  He has a passion for travel and always has his next trip on the books.  Should he have a free weekend, he's probably on the river with his dog Bacon.

Chapter Members that hold a (ISC)2 certification will received up to two CPE for attendance. You must register in the Zoom meeting using your full name to be eligible for CPE credits. Your registration and membership account must also have your correct (ISC)2 certification ID to be awarded the CPE credits.
