Topic: Software Supply Chain Security
Software supply chain attacks are one of the fastest growing attack vectors in the modern threat landscape both in volume and in severity. But these types of attacks get very little attention from the industry and from most organizations. We will discuss the current threat landscape, how emerging regulations and frameworks may play a role in shaping the industry, and what some practical measures to defend against these attacks might be.
BIO: Jake Wyllie is an accomplished security professional whose career has spanned multiple disciplines including software engineering, penetration testing, and application security/DevSecOps. Jake has built several AppSec programs for clients, conducted numerous AppSec/DevSecOps program assessments, and has tested countless applications. He has experience working with organizations in a wide variety of industries including health care, manufacturing, finance, retail, and defense. His professional experience also includes technical work on both the offensive and defensive side of security, working with both large enterprises and startups.
Jake is a member of the Pennsylvania Army National Guard and earned a Bachelor of Science degree from Slippery Rock University in Computer Science focusing on Cybersecurity and is currently pursuing a Master’s degree from the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign in Computer Science focusing on Data Science. Jake also holds several industry certifications, including most recently the OSCP. Jake is a native of Pittsburgh PA, and when not hacking away the evenings can be found spending time with his infant son, wife, and dog
