Cybersecurity Summer Internship at GuidePoint Security

GuidePoint Security provides trusted cybersecurity expertise, solutions and services that help organizations make better decisions and minimize risk. By taking a three-tiered, holistic approach for evaluating security posture and ecosystems, GuidePoint enables some of the nation’s top organizations, such as Fortune 500 companies and U.S. government agencies, to identify threats, optimize resources and integrate best-fit solutions that mitigate risk.

As an intern at GuidePoint Security, you will work closely with industry-leading subject matter experts to provide first-class cyber security services. Interns will complete in-house training programs, while working on projects to enhance their security knowledge and skills. Interns will gain experience through:

    • Hands-On Technical Development
    • Real-World Security Response
    • Collaborative Project Work
    • Team and Position Shadowing
    • Partner-led Vendor Training and Certifications

Are you a good fit for the role?

We are looking for candidates eager to begin their journey within the security industry. An ideal candidate will have a basic understanding of information technology, networking, Linux, and a genuine passion for information security. Motivated individuals eager to learn new skills will excel in this program. Additionally candidates should be:

    • A student enrolled full-time in a college or university with an expected graduation in 2024/2025
    • Pursuing a degree in Cybersecurity, Information Security or another relevant major

    Internship Details and Expectations:
This is a part-time, remote paid internship with some travel required that is offered as part of a GPSU cohort running from May 20 - August 9, 2024. Interns are expected to:

    • Work between the hours of 11am-4pm EST Monday through Friday
    • Attend onboarding in Tampa, FL from May 20-23 (all expenses paid)
    • Have a personal computing device and access to high-speed internet during working hours

While the internship does allow flexible hours, interns will often be required to attend trainings and shadowing opportunities between the hours of 11am - 4pm EST, Monday - Friday. It is vital for the intern's development to attend these events, so we can only accept candidates who are available during these hours. For more information on our GPSU program, please visit our website.
